A few words from Lily Jow our "fabulous fundraising leader"
Good Morning DR
Team,
I wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU for all of the help with the DR garage sale. It is Monday morning and I can see the floors of my living room and porch again!! But on a serious note... God is sooooo good and faithful isn't He? As of Thursday, the weather forecast was still 50% chance of rain and as we all prayed along with many others the weather turned out beautiful. That's the Lord in action, we pray and submit and see how God unfolds His plans. This sale was just a step towards our team preparing our hearts to do God's will and His work on earth specifically the Dominican Republic this time. Great Job to all of you who extended your hands to co-labor in this event.
Special Blessings especially from those that are not on this trip "physically" but lovingly support our DR team:
1) We prayed for the weather and God not only gave us no rain but the beautiful sun, it was so cold again on Sunday and it's raining right now!!
2) My brother-in-law Bob who graciously brought coffee and donuts for everyone, Jeff & Georgi who came to help!
3) Mary who generously bought the team lunch- YUM
4) Meredith my friend, who gave her time to sort and price during the week
5) Shauna who gave us the GREAT idea of selling the garage sale "remains" as a lot on craigslist- Yippie my side yard it cleared!! Kevin & I loaded two trucks and sold the lot for $175.00
6) Christina another friend from school, who came by just to give us baked goods from her oven!
7) My neighbor, Jen who loaned us her driveway and did her fair share of sorting/pricing too!
8) My neighbor, Lorraine who came and gave us baked goods and chocolate for a mid afternoon boost!
9) Praise God that He kept Adree and I safe, we came this close to a car accident (not Adree's fault BTW) on Friday while hanging garage sale signs!
10) We had a goal of $3,000.00 and isn't it once again the Lord that provides immeasurably more than our human minds can imagine? Because we are currently at $5,500.00 and I still have large ticket items to sell on Craigslist so let's see what the final total is in a couple of weeks!
Thanks Again!
In Christ's Love,
Lily

Central Peninsula Church hosted their first annual “Christmas with a Mission” faire. Jennifer Martin, Kristin Gilbert and their team got very busy and very creative in putting together a cross-cultural faire of hand-made crafts from the San Francisco Peninsula and around the globe. The profits were used to support our mission partners throughout the world.
As soon as the doors opened there was a crowd of about 25 women ready to start the shopping marathon which continued until the late afternoon. Women & girls of all ages shopped, children’s eyes sparkled at the treasures and husbands helped set-up and tear-down all in support of the cause. It was truly a family and community affair which raised funds for other families and communities in places such as Africa, Dominican Republic, Ukraine, Thailand, Russia, Guam to name a few.
Christmas With A Mission raised over $24,900 and was able to give a minimum of $900 to each mission partner who participated. They were also able to give a substantial gift to the Lost Boys of Sudan Education Fund through a ministry called Impact A Village, they supported a wonderful ministry called Ten Thousand Villages by selling their goods. And an unexpected gift to G.O. Help Haiti in the amount of $2,880.00 There was much blessing in giving and receiving for all involved. We give all the Glory to God!
"Learn to do good, seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow."
Isaiah 1:17
Look for the 2nd Annual Christmas with a Mission, coming in December, 2010.
